Setup
You may place the script into an object of your choice, as long as the object has sufficient modify permissions.
Setting up for notecard receival & distribution to users
Setup who should be sent a copy of notecards that have been received:
- Open the * Config notecard:
- Add one user per line, following the format:
USER = username , user UUID - Configuration Example:
USER = Johnny Nexen , 1cd6fa21-c0cc-44eb-a3f3-f898dea73dff USER = MoreThanPixels Resident , 9b08a199-39d6-4199-ba98-e1dbdebfecff
- Add one user per line, following the format:
- Save & close the configuration notecard when finished.
- Notecards that are dropped onto the object should now be sent to those that you have defined in the configuration.
Admin Menu Options
To access the admin menu, you must click & HOLD on the object for 2+ seconds.
The Admin menu provides the following options:
- Setup a notecard for on-touch distribution.
- Enable/disable the received notecard confirmation message (displayed in main chat) whenever someone drops a notecard onto the object.
Notecard Dispenser Setup
If you would like to offer a notecard to those that click on the object, follow these steps:
- Once you've accessed the admin menu, select the ASSIGN NC option:
- You will now have 30 seconds to drop the desired notecard onto the object.
If successful, you'll receive confirmation in main chat.
- You will now have 30 seconds to drop the desired notecard onto the object.
- All set! Anyone that clicks on the object should now receive a copy of the assigned notecard.
Enable/Disable the Drop Confirmation Messages
By default the system has confirmation drop messages enabled; whenever someone drops a notecard onto the object, it'll whisper a message in local chat. If you wish to disable this feature and prevent any message from being output to local chat, select the Silent option. To re-enable local chat messages, select Show MSG.
Messages sent to USERS that have been outlined in the configuration will always receive a private message, displayed in their main chat feed.
Important Notes
- The Multi-User Dropbox Script does NOT retain/save copies of received notecards. The system is designed to distribute received notecards to those you have outlined in the configuration notecard, and once finished, it will immediately purge the notecard from the contents.
- Received notecards are processed immediately — notecards will be sent to everyone that you have outlined in the configuration, regardless of their online status.
