Features
Shortcodes
The Shortcodes feature is a unique feature of the system. To use it, notecards cannot contain any embedded inventory items (e.g. Landmarks, notecards, objects, etc).
This feature has been built-in as a core feature and cannot be disabled, currently.
What are Shortcodes?
Shortcodes are a unique feature to the Notecard Filing System that allows users to implement quick parameters to notecards prior to submission. These parameters can differ and be used to do things like categorize a notecard, making it searchable later. Or to password protect a notecard, requiring users to first validate the password before they're able to withdraw it from the system.
How to Implement Shortcodes into your Notecard?
To add shortcodes to your file, simply use the first line of the notecard.
Use the following format when adding your shortcodes: shortcode = value
To use multiple shortcodes in the same file, use the separator term AND
Examples:
- To assign the notecard to a category, let's say "staff files", you would do this:
category = staff files
- Using the previous example, if you wanted to expand that and add password protection to the file, you could do something like this:
category = staff files AND password = 9191
Available Shortcodes:
- password - Password protects the file which requires users to first validate before they're able to obtain it from the system.
- Limited Use — Once per File
- Alphanumeric Value Only
- category - Assign the file a category search-term
File Backup & Recovery
Complete File Backup
To create a backup of all the files that are presently in your system, navigate to ADMIN / Backups / Backup Now. The system will automatically obtain all of the current files and place them into an object which you can then pickup to your inventory for long term keepsake.
The backup objects that are created will automatically be labeled with the date & time (SLT) of the backup.
File Recovery
We've all done it... unintentionally deleting something and not realizing until later what has happened, wishing we could undo our mistake.
Good news is, there is a backup mesaure in place to prevent this!
To see what has been deleted, navigate to ADMIN / Backups / Trash Bin; if files exist, you will receive a dialog menu with a list of files that can be selected. By selecting a file, you will be provided the following options:
- RESTORE - Restores the file back to the main directory.
- SEND COPY - Send yourself a copy of the selected file.
- DELETE - Permanently delete the file from the system.
